Chang Hua Man Royal Project – Simplicity Empowered by Royal Vision
Chang Hua Man Royal Project is one of the royal initiatives of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great. His Majesty envisioned the project as a learning center for sustainable agriculture and a hub for economic crops in Tha Yang District, Phetchaburi Province. The project emphasizes integrated resource management and active community participation, aiming to promote self-reliance and environmentally friendly farming practices in harmony with local wisdom.
The origin of the name Chang Hua Mun
The name of the project originated from a simple yet meaningful incident that reflects the brilliance and deep concern for agriculture of His Majesty King Rama IX. While staying at the Klai Kangwon Palace, a sweet potato given by local villagers was left on a weighing scale in his workroom. Over time, that potato began to sproutdespite not being planted in soil.
His Majesty saw this as a sign of the potential to develop agriculture, even in areas that appeared to be infertile. This inspired him to initiate an integrated agricultural development project on real farmlandmarking the beginning of the Chang Hua Man Royal Project.
A model farm of self-sufficiency.
